Product Information
1,4-Dioxane status in Evonik Cleaning Solutions products
1,4-dioxane is a by-product produced in the ethoxylation process, a route to some ingredients found in products used for cleaning in the commercial and industrial markets. Recently, concerns about its potential impacts on water quality prompted regulatory actions in New York and investigative research in California.
New York’s new law will limit trace concentrations of 1,4-dioxane in cleaning products to 2 ppm on December 31, 2022, and to 1 ppm at the end of 2023.
Evonik Cleaning Solutions can offer formulation flexibility by providing numerous compliant ingredients. The products listed below contain less than 1 ppm of 1,4-dioxane CAS# 123-91-10 as a nonfunctional byproduct.*
